Margaret died suddenly in February 1996 aged only 58yrs. Her family were all shocked at her sudden death.
Margaret Dawson was born and raised in Southwick until she married the late George Mcknight in 1957. Following their marriage they lived briefly in Hendon before moving onto the newly built Carley Hill estate.
Margaret was a loving mother to Steven, Beverley and Ian and a wonderful grandmother.
Margaret had went to St Hildas RC school, and as children we remembered the stories she told of how she had been taught by very strict nuns.
Margaret will be remembered by many for the time she spent working in the bakers at Carley Hill shops and Carricks at Southwick.

How can the years go by so quickly when at times the pain of losing you and living without you hurts so much.
I know you are always with me and know how much you were loved.

Mam its so hard to think that it has been 14years since you left us.
So much has happened to the family over the years but one thing I know is that your 3 children still love and miss you so much. You would have shed so many tears for our trials and tribulations but I know that no matter what you will always be there looking over us.

those were the days
I remember the brilliant times we had when all of us came to your house on a Monday afternoon.. There was me my two brothers Les and Alan, my mam (Joan) Nana and Granda Mac(Bill and Jane Mcknight). It was a shock to us all when you were taken from us and your family so young. You may be gone from sight, but your presence will never be far away.
